What was the most difficult thing about writing a dictionary?
The part where I actually had to write the Dictionary.
Seriously, the most difficult thing for me was not to give up
working, but to sit down every day, and keep on writing even
when it seemed really difficult or when I would rather have
been out with my friends doing something fun.

How did you know which words to include in the dictionary?
This is where my own (hopefully sound) judgment came into
the picture. The publisher supplied me with a basic word list in
English, which included about 7,000 words, but I had to more
than double that. I had a lot of help from my good friend,
Annie Rezelman, who is somewhat of a word enthusiast and a
Scrabble aficionado. She assisted me in compiling an English
word list, which originally had many  more items than I could
include in the final product. As Annie told me, she was very
attached to her words and had a really hard time with me
“killing them off.”
I had no word list in Hungarian. To compile this list, I used
several other dictionaries and my own research on new words
and expressions to include in the Hungarian-English side.
In both cases, I paid special attention to recently emerged
words and expressions in both contemporary Hungarian and
American usage. So this Dictionary includes words (and
abbreviations) such as SUV , website and (
computer) file, or
ASAP, pig-in-a-blanket and brownies.
