About Eva
Eva Szabo is a linguist, author and artist.
She was born is Hungary and finished her education
there in Salgótarján and Debrecen. She first came to
the United States in 1988, then moved to Boston, MA in
1991. She has lived in Alexandria, Virginia since 1992.
She works for the U.S. Department of State, Foreign
Service Institute in Washington, D.C. as a language
training specialist. She is the author of several
textbooks for teaching Hungarian as a foreign language
that are in use at the Foreign Service Institute.
Her most recent accomplishment as an author is the
Hungarian Practical Dictionary, published by Hippocrene
Books, Inc., New York. Eva also works as a translator on
a freelance basis for different government agencies
and private individuals.
As a painter, she creates vibrant abstracts that are
inspired by people, places or her other experiences.
She is available to create paintings on commission. She
has also created a line of greeting cards that use her
own art images. They are available in note card and
greeting card sizes.
